Had the Christian church truly stepped up to this issue in the 19th century, the 20th century would not be the dark self-portrait of the sinister satanist Alistair Crowley that it is today. Crowley was a pastor’s son who ended up the most influential occultist of modern times after losing his faith in the Bible because it seemed to have contradictions.
